In this role, as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer you will address QA related contract requirements supporting product design and test, support Failure Review Boards (FRB), Material Review Board, Supplier Quality, and customer queries. Prior experience working in the Aerospace or Defense industry in an engineering or quality assurance role is desired. Experience working in process-oriented environments that deal with mission or safety critical products is a plus.

This is an on-site role located in Torrance, CA

What You'll Do:

  • Represent Quality Assurance for quality assurance activity in support of DoD programs applying AS9100 QMS and AS9145 APQP requirements.
  • Author and maintain program specific quality assurance plans that are tailored to program requirements.
  • Review and approve program documentation (drawings, assemblies, procedures, reports, etc.)
  • Understand program requirements and interface with engineering, manufacturing, customers, suppliers, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
  • Support product return process (RMAs).
  • Monitor and witness verification and validation activities for compliance with approved plans and procedures.
  • Analyze failures, work with engineering to determine root cause, and initiate corrective action on product and internal process failures.
  • Track problem reports, nonconformances and verify corrective action.
  • Create first article inspection reports (FAIRs) per AS9102 requirements.
  • Support and participate in compliance and customer audits.
  • Perform supplier qualification, performance evaluations, visits, and audits.
  • Manage supplier quality performance and audits.
  • Provide guidance and training for quality assurance processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the Quality Systems.
  • Define, analyze, manage, and improve program and process metrics.
  • This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical, Engineering, Project/Program Management discipline required.
  • 5-8+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance Engineering.
  • Familiarity with applying ISO9000; AS9100 QMS, AS9145 APQP and AS9102 FAIRs requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of QA processes and methodology.
  • Experience with testing, failure reporting and analysis.
  • Experience with DO-178C, and/or MIL-SPEC quality requirements (preferred).
  • Experience interfacing with DCMA or prime contractor quality representatives (preferred)
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel 25–30% of the time, primarily domestic trips with occasional international travel.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000 (Base salary for this position will vary based on your skills, qualifications, and experience)
