About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in building and managing data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with strong hands-on expertise in BigQuery for data warehousing and Looker for BI and analytics. The selected candidate will design scalable data pipelines, develop optimized data models, and build insightful dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This is a full-time, work-from-office role based in Noida.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows on GCP using services such as Dataflow, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions.
  • Develop, optimize, and manage data warehouse solutions in BigQuery, including schema design, partitioning, clustering, and materialized views.
  • Write and tune complex SQL queries on BigQuery for large-scale datasets, ensuring cost-efficient and high-performance query execution.
  • Build and maintain semantic models in Looker using LookML – explores, views, derived tables (PDTs), and data governance layers.
  • Design and develop Looker dashboards, looks, and reports to deliver actionable business insights.
  • Implement data ingestion from multiple sources (databases, APIs, files, streaming) into the GCP data platform.
  • Ensure data quality, validation, lineage, and consistency across pipelines and reporting layers.
  • Implement and manage security, IAM roles, access controls, and data governance policies on GCP and Looker.
  • Monitor pipeline and warehouse performance; troubleshoot failures and optimize for cost and reliability.
  • Automate workflows and infrastructure using scripting and tools such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and product teams to translate requirements into data models and dashboards.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and best-practice standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering practices.
    Technical Skills Required

  • GCP (Mandatory): Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services – BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions.

  • BigQuery (Mandatory): Expertise in data warehouse design, advanced SQL, partitioning, clustering, query optimization, and cost/slot management.

  • Looker (Mandatory): Proficiency in LookML development – models, explores, views, PDTs, dashboards, and user/content management.

  • Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schema, dimensional modeling).

  • Programming/scripting in Python for data processing and pipeline development.

  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer.

  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.

  • Good to have: dbt, Terraform, Dataproc/Spark, Kafka, Looker Studio, BI tools (Tableau/Power BI), Docker/Kubernetes, and GCP certifications (Professional Data Engineer).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / M.Tech).
  • 4–6 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2–3 years on GCP and BigQuery.
  • Hands-on Looker / LookML development experience on real-world projects.
  • GCP certification (e.g., Professional Data Engineer) is an added advantage.
  • Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with business stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality.

  • Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn new cloud and data technologies.
