Senior Backend Engineer

Loxala is building the next generation of freelancing and professional networking. We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to help architect, build, and scale our platform as we prepare for significant growth.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Build RESTful APIs and microservices that support millions of future users.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases.
• Integrate third-party services including payment gateways, email systems, analytics, and AI tools.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Improve system performance, monitoring, reliability, and scalability.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience with PostgreSQL database design and optimization.
• Experience building REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Understanding of Docker and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
• Knowledge of security best practices, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience working in startup environments is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• Experience with Redis and caching systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AI integrations and LLM-powered applications.
• Experience building large-scale marketplace or SaaS platforms.
