About the Role:

As a Product Designer at Wave you will play a crucial role in the product development lifecycle. Working collaboratively with fellow product designers, researchers, content strategists, product managers, engineers, and customer support, you will craft user-centered experiences that help micro business owners thrive by crushing business financial management complexity.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

• Working in collaboration with cross-functional product teams to navigate user and business needs during the discovery phase and iterate on product design solutions that provide desired value for our customers while focusing on the delivery.
• Understanding and engaging in the creation and evolution of Wave's product strategy.
• Following and helping improve Wave’s user-centric design principles
• Help us build and maintain our Design Systems libraries while building innovative products.
• Working with the Product Manager and the Engineer Lead to prioritize the discovery and delivery backlogs.
• Creating and executing a research plan in partnership with the User Research Team, conducting concept testing, usability testing, and user interview sessions.
• Gathering insights from research, developing hypotheses, and exploring multiple possibilities before focusing on a valuable and desirable solution, balancing user needs with business goals and strategy.
• Mocking up and prototyping solutions following our Design Systems and continually validating, testing, experimenting, and refining your work with users.
• Facilitating design reviews with the Product Design Team, Content Strategy, Design Systems, and all stakeholders involved in the initiative, ensuring you follow our principles and guidelines.
• Working transparently, constantly sharing your work with fellow designers to gather feedback and improve your solution.

You'll thrive here by possessing the following:

• You have 3+ years of professional product design experience designing for mobile and web apps, with strong knowledge of experience and visual design fundamentals.
• You are humble, open to receive and give constructive feedback, and collaborate with the whole design team.
• You have experience conducting research such as user interviews, usability testing, surveys, etc.
• You use Figma as your primary design tool and have experience prototyping.
• You are a passionate self-starter, with exceptional communication skills who is dedicated to delivering the highest quality in everything you create.
• You thrive in an autonomous and collaborative environment while working cross-functionally to execute on various design projects from product discovery through to delivery.
• You can stay on top of current design trends and best practices but also know when to break the mold.
• You understand the importance of keeping the user at the heart of your design decisions.
• Experience in Fintech is a plus.
