About the job

Serves as the operational and functional owner of the product backlog for assigned BMx systems or capability areas. The Product Owner works directly with Government stakeholders, Functional SMEs, Help Desk personnel, Scrum Masters, System Architects, and DevSecOps leadership to ensure backlog priorities align with operational mission requirements, maintenance workflows, PMEL operations, modernization objectives, cybersecurity requirements, and cloud migration activities.

The Product Owner is responsible for backlog refinement, user story prioritization, acceptance criteria development, technical debt prioritization, modernization sequencing coordination, and operational release alignment. This role continuously balances sustainment demands, emergent deficiencies, modernization initiatives, and operational priorities to ensure Agile teams focus on delivering the highest operational value without destabilizing mission-critical workflows.

The Product Owner also plays a central role in evaluating modernization candidates, validating operational impacts, prioritizing technical debt remediation, and coordinating release readiness activities affecting maintenance scheduling, calibration workflows, readiness reporting, and enterprise logistics operations.
