About the job
Join Our Mission
Novo is on a mission to make legal workflows faster and clearer, so attorneys can spend their judgment where it counts. We're hiring an early Product Manager to help build the core of an AI platform from the ground up. We're a small team moving fast against a huge surface area if you want real ownership.
What You'll Do
- Own outcomes, not tickets take a problem from fuzzy idea to shipped feature, then watch the metrics and iterate.
- Wear a lot of hats one week you're writing the spec, the next you're doing user research, QA, release notes, or onboarding a firm yourself. Title boundaries are loose here.
- Run tight sprints drive ceremonies and a fast, healthy cadence; keep the team unblocked and shipping every week.
- Translate the real world turn the messy day-to-day workflows of attorneys, paralegals, and case managers into clear stories engineering can build.
- Partner shoulder-to-shoulder work directly with engineering, design, and ops (and founders) to define scope, cut what doesn't matter, and land high-impact releases early.
- Let the data lead ground every call in adoption metrics and user insight; kill your own ideas when the numbers say so.
What You Bring
- Product experience in SaaS or a complex, regulated industry (insurance, legal, healthcare) and a real appetite for early-stage chaos.
- Comfort operating without a playbook; you default to action and figure it out in motion.
- A generalist streak happy to juggle product, research, QA, and customer conversations in the same day.
- Fluency running Scrum/agile in practice, not just on a cert.
- A gift for distilling complicated workflows into plain requirements non-technical stakeholders rally around.
- A bias for delivery; you'd rather ship something real this sprint than perfect something invisible.
- Remote-first and async-friendly strong writing, low-ego comms, and the discipline to own your time. Occasional travel to client sites and legal conferences.
Bonus Points
- Background as an adjuster, claims pro, paralegal, or operator inside a regulated field before moving into product.
- Familiarity with legal document workflows, e-filing systems, and data-privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Experience migrating customers off legacy or licensed platforms and consolidating tooling or spend.
- You've been an early hire before and know what 0→1 actually feels like.
