Technical Services ManagerPosition Summary

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for leading the teams that design, support, and continuously improve production processes and infrastructure across the Lexington division.

This role ensures that safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved while building reliable, scalable processes and maintaining a safe, well-functioning facility. The manager partners closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, and Leadership to drive performance and support new product launches.

Key Responsibilities — Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, coach, and develop engineering and maintenance teams.

  • Translate plant strategy into clear roadmaps and project priorities.

  • Build a culture of safety, problem solving, and continuous improvement.

  • Allocate resources, manage budgets, and track project results.

Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineering

  • Own process design, validation, and optimization for existing production lines.

  • Specify, select, install, and commission new equipment and tooling.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for downtime, scrap, and quality issues.

  • Maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and standards.

  • Ensure safety and ergonomics are embedded in all process designs.

  • Evaluate workflows, takt time, line balance, and capacity utilization.

  • Develop labor and machine standards and support staffing models.

  • Lead plant layout planning and material flow optimization.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

  • Oversee maintenance strategy, staffing, and execution for production equipment and facilities.

  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve uptime and reliability.

  • Manage critical spares, repair practices, and vendor support.

  • Support troubleshooting and long-term corrective actions for chronic equipment issues.

  • Plan and manage facility upgrades, utilities, and infrastructure improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, building, and regulatory requirements.

  • Contribute to capital planning for equipment replacement and expansion projects.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Collaborate with Product Engineering on design-for-manufacturability (DFM/DFA).

  • Support APQP, PFMEA, control plans, process capability, and validation builds.

  • Prepare processes, equipment, and staffing for ramp-up.

Cost, Quality & Performance

  • Identify and deliver cost reduction through automation, productivity, and waste elimination.

  • Support SPC, capability studies, and structured problem solving.

  • Track and report KPIs (OEE, downtime, scrap, labor utilization, maintenance metrics, ROI).

Qualifications — Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.

  • 8–10+ years in manufacturing environments with progressive responsibility.

  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean, problem solving, and process improvement.

  • Experience with equipment installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices.

  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications — Preferred

  • Experience in automotive/electronics or other highly regulated industry.

  • Six Sigma certification and/or PMP.

  • Experience with ERP/MES, CMMS, or digital manufacturing tools.
