About Spur

Spur is an AI Chat and Helpdesk platform for D2C ecommerce brands. We unify WhatsApp, Instagram, live chat, and email into a single inbox, with AI agents that handle support, recover carts, and drive conversions. We are a Meta Tech Partner, serve 550+ customers across 25+ countries, and most of our brands run on Shopify. We ship fast and automate everything we can, including a lot of our own marketing.
The Role
We need one person to own how Spur tells the world what it builds. You will own the launch calendar end to end: picking the story, finding the angle, scripting the videos, running the webinars, and shipping every asset that goes out.
This is not a content role. A content person needs a brief. We need someone who creates the brief. You will sit with our Customer Success and Sales teams, talk to customers and prospects, figure out why a feature actually matters and who it is for, and turn that into a launch that moves brands to upgrade.
The throughput work, distribution copy, scheduling, webinar logistics, is handled by AI agents we have already built. Your job is the judgment, the angle, and the story. If you do this well, you operate like a team of three.
This is a PMM and content role at heart. Spur has working acquisition through the Shopify App Store and word of mouth. The unsolved problems are positioning, launch cadence, and a content engine that turns our aggregate data across 550 brands into category-defining work. That is the seat.
What You Will Own
Launch Calendar: Own the launch calendar end to end. Four to six launches a month, from picking the story to shipping every asset.
Launch Videos: Script and deliver a horizontal walkthrough and a vertical short for each feature. Horizontal demos are recorded and cut in Screen Studio, simple enough to do yourself. Reels stay raw and organic, shot and cut in Instagram's edits app. Focus is shipping speed, raw content quality, and a sharp script, not heavy editing. We have an editor on call when a launch needs something more polished, but that is the exception.
Content Engine: Build the Spur content engine. A consistent flow of deeply researched pieces on D2C support, conversational commerce, and WhatsApp and Instagram playbooks. Turn our aggregate data across 550 brands into category defining content. Quality over volume: 2 to 4 great pieces a month, not 10 thin ones.
Pain Point Discovery: Regular calls with our Customer Success and Sales teams, plus customers and prospects themselves, to close the loop on what users want and where deals get stuck. You decide why a feature matters before anyone writes about it.
Social Listening: Set up and run social listening across Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, and relevant communities. Reply to relevant conversations every day, where Spur or a competitor is mentioned, where a brand is asking for what we sell, or where the topic is one we have a point of view on. This is a daily habit, not a campaign.
Weekly Webinars: CS hosts them, you own the planning, the calendar, and making sure they fill up.
Partner Events: We are co hosting a full webinar with Razorpay Rize in July. More partner co marketing and event sponsorships will follow. You own the plan, the coordination, and the execution. You also represent Spur at industry events when relevant.
Final Taste Pass: All launch copy and visuals get a final taste pass from you before anything goes out.
What We Are Looking For
This is a senior, judgment heavy role. We are looking for someone who has been in the trenches of product marketing before, not their first attempt at it.
You have done product marketing at a SaaS or tools company, ideally one with a content engine you helped build or run. You can ship a Tier 1 launch and a sharp blog post in the same week.
You can write English that does not read like it came out of an AI.
You are comfortable on camera and comfortable on customer calls.
You think in terms of why a feature matters and who it is for, not just what it does.
You enjoy being online. You read what founders, operators, and marketers in your space are saying on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Reddit, and you have a point of view on it.
You are happy working three days from our Safdarjung Enclave office and two days remote.
Bonus Points
You have built a content engine that turns proprietary data into published research.
You have a personal writing presence (newsletter, Twitter, LinkedIn) that you actually maintain.
You have run webinars before and know the playbook.
You have shipped product launches at an early stage company and know how to do it without a big team.
You have worked with WhatsApp, Instagram, or other conversational channels in a previous role.
Why This Is a Good Seat
You get to define how a fast growing company talks about its product, with an AI tooling layer underneath you that removes the grunt work most marketers waste their days on.
You also get Claude Code and Codex access to experiment and build prototypes. If you want to spin up a landing page, build an interactive demo, or stand up a quick microsite for a launch, you can ship it yourself without waiting on engineering.
You will work closely with the founders and the CS team in person three days a week, which means tight feedback loops and real ownership from day one. Small team, fast shipping, and a backlog of launches waiting for someone to give them a voice.
This is a first hire, which means the shape of marketing at Spur is yours to draw.
How to Apply
Apply through our form. It takes about 20 minutes. We ask for a short Loom and a writing sample, they tell us more than a CV ever will.
