Remote Contract Product Designer

👋 Hello! I’m Jennifer, and I lead design at Sudowrite.

Writing a book is hard. Like realllllly hard.

It’s staying up too late trying to fix a plot twist, realizing halfway through that a character’s motivation just doesn’t work anymore, and lots of wishing the words would just come out faster.

If you love to write as much as you love to design, then you know exactly what I mean.

Authors need our help. I’m looking for a designer to partner closely with me and our team to make writing easier. I’m looking for someone who equally obsesses over pixels and character arcs, cares deeply about interaction details, and wants to help shape the future of how writers use AI.

We’re nice people making AI tools for novelists. We do this because we love storytelling and we’re optimists. We believe AI is a phenomenal collaborator, not a destroyer of worlds. We’re writers living in the most interesting time for writers in history, and we have an opportunity to reinvent how people write.

The Actual Job Listing

This is a remote, part-time contractor Product Designer role to start, with potential for future full-time opportunities based on mutual fit, company needs, and shared vibes.

What you’ll do

• Craft clean, playful new UX/UI.
• Collaborate with our design lead to solve user needs.
• Work with engineers to implement designs.
• Move Sudowrite towards a more agentic future.
