About us.

Kalmus Labs is building Remora - an AI-native platform focused on transforming books, documents, and information into interactive experiences people actually engage with and remember.

Most learning products feel dry, corporate, and forgettable. We’re building something different:
a product shaped by storytelling, atmosphere, design, internet culture, and modern AI interaction.

We’re still early, which means the people joining now will directly influence how the company looks, feels, and grows online.

Why this role is different.

This is not a traditional “video editor” role.

You won’t just cut clips for corporate social media.

You’ll help shape:

• how Remora is perceived online
• the style and rhythm of our content
• how people emotionally connect with the product

• how AI, learning, internet culture, and storytelling intersect visually

• Part editor.

• Part storyteller.

• Part internet-native creative.

• Part experimental media builder.

You’ll work directly with the founder in a fast-moving environment with very little bureaucracy and a lot of creative freedom.

What you’ll do.

• Create short-form content for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, X, and future channels
• Edit videos with strong pacing, rhythm, emotional timing, and attention retention
• Experiment with hooks, storytelling structures, subtitles, visuals, and internet-native formats
• Help shape the visual identity and online tone of Remora
• Collaborate with design/growth side on launches, campaigns, and experiments
• Observe trends, but avoid blindly copying trends
• Analyze what resonates, spreads, gets ignored, or creates emotional reaction
• Help turn a small AI startup into a recognizable online presence

This role is ideal for someone who:

• studies internet behavior naturally
• understands online attention
• likes experimentation
• enjoys making content people actually want to watch

You might be a fit if you…

• Understand why certain videos hold attention and others instantly die
• Have strong intuition for pacing, editing, hooks, and emotional flow
• Spend a lot of time around internet/media culture
• Have experience creating TikTok/Reels/Shorts content (personal or professional)
• Enjoy rapid experimentation and iteration
• Can work independently without constant oversight
• Care about visual identity, storytelling, and audience psychology

Bonus if you:

• understand creator economy culture
• have motion design skills
• enjoy cinematic editing/styles
• understand AI/internet/startup culture
• have built or grown social accounts before

• After Effects
• Motion tools
• TikTok/Reels/Shorts workflows
• Analytics tools

We care much more about creative instinct, editing taste, and internet intuition than specific software.

• Small core team (~10 people)
• Remote-first
• Minimal meetings
• Fast iteration
• Flexible schedule (~10–20h/week initially)
• Direct communication
• Strong ownership and creative freedom
• Opportunity to grow into a long-term paid role as the company scales

Compensation.

Equity-only for now (Pre-Seed stage)
4-year vesting / 1-year cliff

Target range:
~2%

As the company grows and funding closes, the goal is to transition strong contributors into paid long-term positions.
