VP / SVP of Engineering

Shin is assembling a small, elite engineering leadership team to build something deeply ambitious at the intersection of AI, real-time systems, and professional productivity. We are intentionally not revealing everything publicly yet - because what matters right now is the people, not the press release.

We are looking for a VP or SVP of Engineering who can help turn an early technical vision into a category-defining company.

This role is not about managing large teams immediately.
It is about building the foundation correctly before scale arrives.

What You’ll Own
Build and lead the engineering organization from the ground up
Architect systems designed for speed, reliability, and scale
Work directly with founders on technical strategy and product direction
Establish engineering culture, hiring standards, and execution philosophy
Recruit and mentor exceptional engineers across frontend, backend, AI, and infrastructure
Create a high-performance engineering environment without bureaucracy
Help define how the company operates technically for the next decade

You will be a core part of the leadership team - not just “engineering management.”

What We’re Looking For
Technical & Leadership Depth
Strong engineering leadership experience at a startup or high-growth company
Experience scaling teams, systems, and architecture
Deep understanding of modern product engineering
Ability to move between strategy and hands-on execution
Strong technical judgment across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and AI systems
Experience shipping products used by large numbers of users
Strong systems-thinking mindset
Founder Mentality

Comfortable with ambiguity and zero-process environments
Can recruit high-caliber talent
Understands how to balance speed vs long-term architecture
