About the job

Our Quality Philosophy

Quality at Tutcart is about judgment, systems thinking, and trust.

QA engineers here are not gatekeepers.
They are quality leaders who influence how products are built, not just how they’re tested.

Tutcart | Product-Led EdTech Platform

How We Think About Quality

At Tutcart, quality is not something you “check at the end.”
It’s how we protect user trust while moving fast.

We expect QA engineers to think in user journeys, failure modes, and long-term reliability — not just test cases.

Why This Role Exists

As the product grows, individual features become workflows.
Workflows become expectations.
Expectations demand consistent quality ownership.

We’re hiring a Mid-Senior Quality Engineer to independently own quality for meaningful parts of the product and ensure releases remain predictable and calm.

What You’ll Own

Product Quality (Real-World Thinking)
• Deeply understand assigned product areas and user journeys
• Design test scenarios based on real usage, not ideal paths
• Identify risk early and work with engineers to resolve it
• Ensure features you own meet a high reliability bar

Automation-First Execution
• Build and maintain automated tests for critical flows
• Decide what should be automated vs manually verified
• Keep regression suites fast, reliable, and relevant
• Prevent repeat issues through better coverage, not repetition

Release Readiness
• Participate in release readiness discussions
• Clearly flag quality risks and edge cases
• Help ensure releases involving your areas feel boringly reliable

What We Expect from You
• You can own QA for features or modules end-to-end
• You write automation confidently with minimal guidance
• You proactively improve coverage where it matters
• You communicate risks clearly and early
• Engineers trust your judgment

Required Experience
• 2-4 years in QA / Quality Engineering
• Experience testing modern web and mobile applications
• Hands-on automation experience with any major framework
• Strong understanding of testing fundamentals
• Clear written and verbal communication

Nice to Have
• Experience in SaaS or product-led teams
• Familiarity with CI/CD environments
• Interest in performance, reliability, or security testing
• Comfort using modern tools (including AI-assisted workflows)

What Success Looks Like
• Areas you own rarely regress
• Bugs are caught before users see them
• Releases involving your work feel calm and predictable
• You’re seen as a reliable product partner

Growth Path

This role can grow into Senior Quality Engineer based on ownership depth, judgment, and impact.

Not a Fit If
• You want only manual testing
• You prefer being told exactly what to test
• You avoid responsibility for outcomes

Final Note

If you want real ownership - not just tickets - this role gives you space to grow while shipping quality that actually matters.

If you believe quality is about confidence, judgment, and long-term trust, this role gives you real authority to shape how a serious product scales.
