Senior MERN Stack Developer (Team Lead Experience Required) | Mumbai | 6 to 7 years Experience

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior MERN Stack Developer with strong backend and frontend expertise and prior experience leading small engineering teams. The ideal candidate should have deep hands-on experience with React, Node.js, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, along with exposure to modern infrastructure tools like Apache, Kafka, Docker, and strong collaboration workflows using GitHub and JIRA.

This role requires ownership mindset, technical leadership capability, and the ability to guide a team of developers toward scalable and high-performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using the MERN stack
• Lead a team of 4–5 developers, providing technical direction and mentorship
• Architect robust backend services using Node.js
• Build performant frontend interfaces using React.js
• Work with both MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases efficiently
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker containers
• Configure and maintain application environments using Apache
• Work with event-driven or streaming architecture using Kafka
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using GitHub and JIRA
• Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and best practices
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and technical discussions

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–7 years of hands-on experience in full-stack development
• Strong expertise in:
  • React.js
  • Node.js
  • Express.js
  • MongoDB
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience working with Docker containers
• Knowledge of Apache server configuration
• Exposure to Kafka-based architectures
• Strong proficiency in GitHub workflows
• Experience working with JIRA
• Proven experience leading a team of minimum 4–5 developers
• Strong understanding of:
  • REST APIs
  • authentication & authorization
  • scalable architecture patterns
  • performance optimization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on high-scale production applications
• Exposure to microservices architecture
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience debugging distributed systems
