Daily Lowdown is a personalised daily news email that delivers the stories that actually matter to you — your topics, your interests, every weekday at 8am. Our AI journalism engine scours the internet so our readers don't have to. We're building something people genuinely love, and we need someone who can bring that energy to TikTok and Instagram Reels.

There's no salary here. What we're offering is a real equity stake in the company — meaning you'd own a piece of what we're building together. If that sounds like a terrible deal, this role isn't for you. If it sounds like an opportunity, keep reading.

What you'd actually be doing

You'd own our short-form video presence entirely — strategy, creation, posting, and growth. That means:

• Ideating and producing TikTok and Reels content that reflects what Daily Lowdown is all about: smart, punchy, personalised news
• Staying on top of trends and figuring out how to make them work for us (not just chasing them blindly)
• Building an audience from the ground up — this is a 0-to-1 role
• Experimenting constantly and using data to figure out what's actually working
• Collaborating with the founding team on how social fits into the broader growth strategy

You're probably a fit if…

• You're already making content — TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts — and you have receipts
• You understand what makes people stop scrolling (and you can explain it without using the word "viral")
• You care about news, culture, or the creator economy and want to be part of building a media brand
• You're comfortable with ambiguity and can run your own projects without a lot of hand-holding
• You think equity in an early-stage company is exciting, not a red flag

The details

Location: Fully remote — work from anywhere in the world.

Compensation: Equity only. We're offering a 2.5–5% ownership stake in Daily Lowdown, with the exact percentage based on your experience and the scope of your role. This comes with a standard vesting schedule. No salary — this is a bet on what we're building together, and we want you to share in the upside when it pays off.
