About the job

We're Hiring! Electro-Mechanical Engineer @ VISIE

The future of surgery is being built right now - and we want you to help build it!

VISIE is a pioneering company at the intersection of 3D computer vision, spatial computing, and surgical innovation. We develop proprietary imaging hardware and cutting-edge scanners that are redefining what's possible in orthopedic, neuro, and spine surgery.

We're looking for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer who is energized by hard problems, motivated by meaningful work, and ready to contribute to technology that matters when it matters most — in the operating room.

What You'll Be Part Of

At VISIE, you'll be a builder. Our team works at the cutting edge of medical imaging, where precision engineering meets life-changing healthcare.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and integrate electromechanical systems for medical devices
  • Develop and troubleshoot digital circuitry, including PCB-level debugging and schematic review
  • Lead and execute IEC 60601 compliance testing, including electrical safety, EMC, and related standards
  • Support firmware integration and system-level debugging across hardware and software
  • Produce production drawings and technical documentation for design verification and validation (DV&V)
  • Design and run experiments; collect and analyze data to validate design decisions
  • Build test protocols and validation plans in support of regulatory submissions
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA, and risk analysis
  • Support prototype builds, system integration, and transition to manufacturing

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in electromechanical system design within a medical device environment
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 standards and compliance testing (electrical safety, EMC)
  • Experience with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, or FDA regulatory processes
  • Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer or equivalent
  • Comfort with standard lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and production drawings
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and the ability to work fluidly across electrical and mechanical domains

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with optical systems, optoelectronics, or machine vision
  • Background in 3D vision systems or surgical navigation
  • Robotics or automation experience
  • Familiarity with radiation hardening for electronics
  • Experience scaling products from prototype to production
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles

Why VISIE

  • Work on technology that is genuinely advancing surgical visualization
  • Collaborate with a passionate, mission-driven team at an exciting stage of growth
  • Shape products from the ground up — your work will be visible, and your voice will matter
  • Be part of a company where engineering excellence and human impact go hand in hand
