RESRG Automotive is seeking you to join our team as a Warranty Engineering Manager in our Troy, MI facility!

Your Job

The Warranty Engineering Manager leads the global warranty function, overseeing strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of warranty processes. This role manages a team of warranty engineers and analysts, ensuring timely resolution of warranty cases, robust root cause analysis, and effective corrective actions. The Warranty Engineering Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams—product development, quality, manufacturing, and customer service—to drive customer satisfaction and reduce field failures.

What you Will do in Your Role

  • Own and execute the North America warranty function, operating with a high level of autonomy while aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for OEM warranty systems and portals (GM, Ford, Stellantis, Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, VW), building strong customer relationships and ensuring timely, accurate responses.
  • Manage end-to-end warranty claims, including triage, investigation, and escalation of high-impact or sensitive issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using structured methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma), and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and sustained.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations to drive containment, resolution, and long-term product and process improvements.
  • Establish and track KPIs, using data-driven analysis to identify trends, reduce cost, and improve overall warranty performance.
  • Represent the organization in customer meetings and audits, including support of warranty-related discussions and technical negotiations.
  • Prepare and deliver reporting on warranty performance, risks, and financial impact to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF, ISO, and customer-specific requirements (including CQI-14), maintaining audit readiness.
  • Operate as a self-starter with full ownership of the warranty function, with the opportunity to grow into a leadership role as the function expands.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in warranty, quality or product engineering (automotive/manufacturing)
  • Experience with OEM warranty systems
  • Strong Root cause analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of IATF, ISO and CQI-14
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Direct OEM customer-facing experience
  • Six Sigma Certification or strong problem solving background
  • Experience driving cost reduction and warranty improvements through data analysis
  • Experience with warranty related negotiations or technical factors
