About the Role

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our engineering team at Yuma. You’ll help design and scale the core systems that underpin our decentralized AI infrastructure and related products — from high-performance data pipelines to API services.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including data, product, and infrastructure — to deliver high-quality features and systems.
Ensure software reliability through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability best practices.
Deploy and manage services in cloud environments
Optimize system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help evolve our engineering culture and practices.
Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of live systems

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
3–8 years of professional experience as a backend engineer.
Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, Rust or Go)
Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and backend architecture.
Experience deploying, monitoring, and scaling applications in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks.
Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Working knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with blockchain or decentralized technologies, Polkadot, Parity, Substrate preferred)
Experience with AI/ML integrations or data-intensive systems
Exposure to containerization/orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
Prior experience in a startup or early-stage company
