DevOps Engineer Internship

Position Overview

Join our DevOps team for a hands-on learning experience in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering. You'll work alongside experienced engineers to learn industry-standard tools and practices while contributing to real production systems.

What You'll Learn

• Cloud platform fundamentals, best practices, and multi-environment deployment strategies
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes and microservices architecture
• Infrastructure-as-Code principles and hands-on experience with IaC tooling
• CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and GitOps workflows
• Scripting and automation development for operational efficiency
• Observability tools, metrics collection, visualization, and alerting systems
• Production troubleshooting methodologies and incident response procedures
• Cloud security fundamentals, identity and access management, and certificate management
• Network architecture, configuration, and secrets management best practices
• Internship Responsibilities
• Assist in deploying and managing containerized services and maintaining infrastructure-as-code configurations
• Develop automation scripts for operational tasks and contribute to CI/CD pipeline enhancements
• Create monitoring dashboards, visualizations, and build tools to improve team productivity
• Support data infrastructure operations, maintenance, and document procedures in runbooks
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and complete structured learning paths
• Shadow senior engineers in operational activities and incident response procedures
• Assist in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution
• Work cross-functionally with development and operations teams on deployment requirements
• Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and share knowledge across the team

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field, OR completion of relevant technical bootcamp/certification program
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line interfaces
• Programming or scripting experience in at least one language (Python, Bash, Go, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
• Basic knowledge of version control systems (Git) and understanding of basic computing concepts
• Strong desire to learn and grow in DevOps/platform engineering with an analytical, problem-solving mindset
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to work collaboratively
• Self-motivated with attention to detail and comfortable with ambiguity and continuous learning

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Personal or academic projects involving containers or cloud technologies
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities
• Experimentation with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Understanding of databases and data persistence
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code or configuration management
• Relevant online courses or certifications (Coursera, Udemy, etc.)
• Interest in cloud-native technologies and distributed systems
