Founding Engineer

We're looking for a founding engineer to own the technical side of ClearPath. This is a co-founder-level role with meaningful equity, not a contractor gig.

What exists today:

• A working React/Vite/Supabase application in beta
• 285+ compliance controls mapped across four frameworks
• A crosswalk system linking equivalent controls across frameworks
• Evidence storage, audit logging, and a compliance dashboard
• You're inheriting a foundation that needs an owner.

What you'd be doing:

• Taking ownership of the full product stack (React, Vite, Supabase, Stripe, Netlify)
• Implementing AI-assisted features
• Making architectural decisions

What this is not:

• This is not a salaried position. Compensation is equity only (5–15%) with a standard 4-year vest and 1-year cliff.
• This is not full-time to start. We're looking for ~8–12 hours/week from someone who has a day job or other income. We're bootstrapped and honest about it.
• This is not remote. We need someone in the Salt Lake City or Utah County area for regular in-person collaboration.

Who You Are

• You're proficient in React and comfortable with Supabase (or PostgreSQL more broadly)
• You've built and shipped real products — side projects, startup work, or otherwise
• You're looking for co-founder-level ownership in something with real traction, not a spec project
• You're in the SLC/Utah County area and available for in-person working sessions
• You don't need your hand held on technical decisions, but you communicate clearly about tradeoffs

Bonus if you have:

• Any background in cybersecurity, compliance, or GRC — even surface-level familiarity helps.
• Experience with AI/LLM integration in production apps
• Familiarity with Stripe billing or SaaS infrastructure patterns

Why This Might Be Worth Your Time

Real product, real users. This isn't a slide deck. The platform exists and people are using it.
Real market timing. The compliance automation space just lost trust in the "move fast and fake it" approach. A platform built on integrity has a window right now.

Real equity. 5–15% with proper legal structure
Real co-founders. The CEO has a cybersecurity policy background (BS National Security Studies, MS Cybersecurity Policy) and works full-time in compliance at a fintech company. The COO runs business development and outreach. You'd be joining a team that knows the domain — we just need the builder.
