Role Description
We’re looking for a hands-on Embedded System Test Engineer who owns system-level validation end-to-end. This is not a passive QA role—you will build the infrastructure, automation, and intelligence needed to validate complex embedded and AI-enabled systems at scale.
You will operate across hardware, firmware, software, and ML pipelines, ensuring everything integrates, performs, and ships fast. Expect to work in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements and aggressive timelines.
Responsibilities
- Own system-level verification and validation across hardware, firmware, software, and AI/ML pipelines.
- Build automated test infrastructure from the ground up—design, implement, and scale test frameworks integrated into CI/CD.
- Drive full automation of regression, performance, and system-level testing with minimal manual intervention.
- Integrate AI/ML into test workflows (failure prediction, anomaly detection, intelligent test selection, coverage optimization).
- Validate ML models at the edge—dataset handling, inference validation, accuracy/performance tradeoffs, and regression tracking.
- Break systems—identify integration issues across sensors, compute, firmware, and algorithms, and drive root cause to closure.
- Develop high-quality, repeatable test environments including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups and data-driven validation pipelines.
- Define and enforce test strategy, coverage, and release criteria across programs.
- Embed testing directly into CI/CD pipelines—every commit validated, every regression caught early.
- Support rapid NPI cycles—bring-up, qualification, and production readiness under tight timelines.
- Work closely with engineering teams to iterate fast and eliminate bottlenecks in system validation.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 5+ years building and automating system-level testing for embedded systems.
- Strong Python and C/C++ skills—able to build tools, not just use them.
- Proven experience building CI/CD-integrated test systems (Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Experience validating AI/ML systems in production or embedded environments (model validation, datasets, inference behavior).
- Strong debugging skills across hardware/software boundaries—comfortable with scopes, analyzers, and low-level interfaces.
- Experience with embedded protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB) and system bring-up.
- Familiarity with RTOS-based systems and real-time constraints.
- Experience with HIL testing, automated lab setups, or production test systems is a strong plus.
- Bias for action—comfortable with ambiguity, able to execute without perfect specs.
- High ownership mindset—drives problems to closure, not just identifies them.
