About the job
This is a remote role in Latin America. Because collaboration is key, we require a working overlap until at least 2 PM MST to ensure seamless connection with our Colorado-based team.
Are you a creative problem-solver who loves building seamless digital experiences from the ground up? TurboTenant is looking for a WordPress Developer to help build, optimize, and evolve our web presence. This isn’t just about updating pages; it’s about crafting functional, responsive, and high-performance web experiences that directly support user acquisition and retention.
In this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to optimize our WordPress ecosystem while working across a high-velocity team. You will partner closely with Designers, Marketing, and Engineering to transform high-fidelity specs into reality, write clean, well-documented code, and ensure our digital storefront is a true competitive advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- WordPress Mastery & Delivery: Build, update, and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and site functionality. Write clean, efficient code that adheres to WordPress best practices and our high quality bar.
- Responsive Design Implementation: Translate design specs into polished, pixel-perfect front-end experiences across all devices and browsers, partnering closely with designers and content creators.
- Performance, SEO & Site Health: Troubleshoot technical issues and relentlessly optimize site speed, basic SEO, and security protocols to keep site performance trending in the right direction.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, Product Design, and Customer Experience to ensure web updates align with broader business objectives.
- Code Quality & Documentation: Participate in peer code reviews, contribute to internal coding standards, and maintain clear documentation—leaving the codebase better than you found it.
- Continuous Site Scalability: Proactively monitor trends and bring forward fresh ideas to improve site functionality, speed, and scalability.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of WordPress development experience with proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Expertise in Elementor & ACF: Strong skills using Elementor and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to build flexible, high-fidelity user experiences.
- Technical Depth: Solid understanding of WordPress core, plugins, and familiarity with the WordPress REST API.
- Version Control & SEO: Knowledge of Git version control, SEO best practices, and performance optimization techniques.
- Collaborative Spirit: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical teammates.
Technical Bonus SuperPowers:
We are looking for someone with a modern, tech-forward approach:
- AI-Native Workflow: You consistently use AI coding tools (such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot) to accelerate your delivery, evaluate code quality, and work smarter every day.
- Ownership Mindset: When a design isn't rendering correctly or a deadline is at risk, you surface it proactively and drive the fix without waiting to be asked.
- Multiplier Impact: Every contribution you make—from the documentation you maintain to the AI workflows you share—raises the baseline quality of the team.
