About the job
A growing US-based hosting and managed services provider is seeking a Senior Network / Security Engineer to support multi–data center operations across the United States.
This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced hosting environment. The ideal candidate brings strong networking expertise, solid Linux fundamentals, and deep experience in virtualization, particularly KVM-based environments.
If you thrive in an infrastructure-heavy environment where systems are continuously evolving, and automation is key, this opportunity offers meaningful technical depth and impact.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure across multiple U.S. data centers
- Configure and support routing and switching environments (Fortinet, Cisco, Dell)
- Design and maintain resilient L2/L3 network segments (BGP, OSPF, VRRP, STP, SD-WAN)
- Implement and manage firewall policies, IDS/IPS, and VPN configurations
- Support and administer Linux and Windows server environments
- Manage and troubleshoot KVM-based virtualization (OpenNebula experience preferred)
- Participate in ongoing infrastructure upgrades, firmware updates, and system enhancements
- Contribute to automation initiatives using scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
- Support cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Required Experience
- Ideally, a background in hosting or MSP environments, but not required.
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and multi–data center networking
- Hands-on Linux systems administration experience
- Experience with KVM virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V familiarity helpful)
- Experience supporting high-availability, resilient infrastructure
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a technical team
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Comfortable in fast-moving environments with continuous upgrades
- Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Senior enough to operate autonomously, yet still hands-on day-to-day
This opportunity is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges within a hosting/MSP model and want to contribute to a growing organization.
