Role Summary:
You will be responsible for developing and optimizing terrain matching algorithms and vision-based navigation systems for drones. Your work will power core autonomy features, enabling drones to make sense of the environment without relying on GPS.
⸻
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement computer vision algorithms for real-time navigation.
• Develop and optimize SLAM pipelines (e.g., ORB-SLAM, VINS-Fusion).
• Use deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) for object detection, feature matching, and scene understanding.
• Integrate CV modules with embedded systems (Jetson, Raspberry Pi, etc.).
• Work with sensor data (camera, IMU) for sensor fusion and pose estimation.
• Collaborate with robotics engineers to integrate navigation stack.
⸻
Required Skills:
• Strong experience with Python and OpenCV/NumPy.
• Experience in one or more of the following: SLAM, visual odometry, or terrain matching.
• Hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with Kalman filters or other sensor fusion methods.
• Ability to process and analyze real-time video or image data.
Nice to Have:
• Experience deploying CV/ML models on embedded hardware.
• Exposure to Gazebo or other robotics simulation tools.
• Prior work with MAVLink or PX4 (not required).
• Experience with electronics and component assembly.
• Drone flying experience.
• FPV flying experience.
⸻
Job Type
