Data Scientist (Pet Care Ecosystem)

As a Data Scientist for our Pet Care division, you will be the architect of our data intelligence. The pet industry is uniquely fragmented—data lives in veterinary clinics, IoT wearables, e-commerce platforms, and shelter registries. Your mission is to identify these disparate sources, synthesize them into a unified "Pet 360" view, and build predictive models that enhance pet longevity and personalized care.

1. Data Identification & Acquisition Source Discovery: Locate and vet internal and external data streams, including electronic medical records (EMR), wearable sensor data (GPS/activity trackers), nutritional purchase history, and genomic data.

Partnership Collaboration: Work with business development to identify third-party data providers (e.g., insurance companies, kennel clubs) to enrich our datasets.

1. Data Synthesis & Engineering The "Pet 360" View: Design and implement pipelines to merge structured and unstructured data. You will reconcile data where a "user" (the pet) may have multiple "owners" or medical IDs.

Synthetic Data Generation: Where data is sparse (e.g., rare breed health conditions), use GANs or other synthesis methods to create high-fidelity datasets for model training.

1. Advanced Modeling & Insights Predictive Health: Build models to predict early-onset chronic illnesses (e.g., kidney disease in cats or hip dysplasia in specific dog breeds).

Personalization Engines: Develop recommendation systems for nutrition and preventative care based on life stage, breed, and activity levels.

Behavioral Analysis: Use time-series data from IoT devices to identify anomalies in pet behavior that signal distress or illness.
