Node.js Backend Developer

About the Role

We're looking for a passionate Node.js Backend Developer who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You'll play a key role in designing and building scalable backend systems that power our products.

If you enjoy solving complex problems, building APIs from scratch, and taking ownership of backend architecture, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js
• Build robust RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
• Work closely with frontend, product, and DevOps teams
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Design and manage databases (SQL/NoSQL)
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues

Tech Stack

• Node.js, Express.js / NestJS
• JavaScript (ES6+)
• MongoDB / PostgreSQL / MySQL
• REST APIs
• Git & version control
• Basic understanding of Docker & CI/CD

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and asynchronous programming
• Experience building RESTful APIs at scale
• Solid understanding of database design and optimization
• Knowledge of authentication (JWT, OAuth)
• Understanding of system design principles
• Experience working in Agile environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Familiarity with Redis, message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ)
• Experience in performance tuning and monitoring
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha)
