Associate Product Owner

We are looking for a full-time team member in the making. This role is designed for recent graduates, bootcamp alumni, or early-career builders who are ready to start their career. This is an entry-level, full-time, 6-month contract role with the explicit goal of converting you to a permanent team member at Topflight Apps.

Who We Are
We are Topflight Apps! An innovative group of product strategists, designers, and developers. Together we create custom app solutions for startups and mid-sized businesses. We tackle some of the biggest problems in healthcare, fintech, blockchain technology, and on-demand services.

The Role
We are looking for an Associate Product Manager who loves to build, tinker, and understand how things work under the hood.

You might have a background in Computer Science or a coding bootcamp, but you’ve realized your passion lies in defining the product rather than writing production code. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and engineering. You won't be pushing production code, but you will use your technical literacy to build rapid prototypes, communicate with developers in their language, and ensure our specs are technically feasible.

Your Responsibilities

• Rapid Prototyping: Use AI-assisted coding tools (like Cursor, Lovable, or v0) to build functional prototypes that demonstrate product vision before full development.
• Technical Translation: Assist in writing comprehensive Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) that developers can actually use, bridging the gap between "what the client wants" and "how the code works."
• Product Discovery: Help define MVP features by balancing user needs with technical complexity.
• Quality Assurance: Act as the first line of defense in testing; use your technical understanding to write detailed bug reports and reproduce issues.
• Data & Analysis: Analyze user behavior and feedback to identify improvements.

The Key Characteristics We're Looking For

• Availability: You are available to work full-time (Monday–Friday) immediately.
• Technical Background: You can read code and understand logic.
• The "Builder" Mindset: You enjoy using low-code tools or AI-assisted IDEs (like Cursor, Claude Code) to hack together solutions and see ideas come to life.
• Scrappy & Resourceful: You have the ability to "figure it out" when you hit roadblocks, using research and trial-and-error to solve problems.
• Strong Communicator: You can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business concepts to engineers.
• Detail Obsessed: You have an unwavering commitment to product integrity and quality assurance.

Salary:
$36,000
