Position Overview
We are seeking a senior-level security systems professional to serve as the primary program manager and technical liaison for a large, complex, high-security enterprise environment. This role is responsible for overseeing system performance, coordinating issue resolution, and identifying strategic opportunities to enhance the customer's electronic security ecosystem.
The role requires technical understanding of access control, IP video, and integrated security systems to assess designs, evaluate upgrades, and guide internal operations, engineering, and project teams toward successful solutions. The successful candidate will also be able to create and deliver technically sound proposals to multiple stakeholders within the customer's organization.
The ideal candidate brings extensive industry experience, strong technical judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of leaders from IT and security, contractors, project managers, and agency heads.
Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight and Coordination
- Serve as the primary program-level point of contact for a complex electronic security environment
- Communicate across internal teams, including operations, engineering, service, and project management, to ensure issues are properly scoped, prioritized, and resolved
- Track system issues, risks, and opportunities to closure while ensuring accountability across teams
- Ensure consistent communication, follow-through, and documentation across all workstreams
Technical Leadership and System Understanding
- Develop and maintain a deep working knowledge of the customer's access control, video surveillance, and integrated security system architecture
- Review system designs, as-builts, standards, and proposed changes to assess impact, risk, and value
Strategic Value and Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for Pro-Tec to add value through system enhancements, technology upgrades, or improved operational approaches
- Help align customer needs with appropriate technologies and services based on system complexity and long-term objectives
- Support planning for phased upgrades, expansions, and modernization initiatives
- Reduce reactive issues by driving proactive system planning and coordination
Stakeholder Communication and Relationship Management
Serve as a trusted liaison with multiple customer stakeholder groups, including:
Contractors and trade partners
Project managers
IT and network teams
Physical security leadership
Public safety and security operations personnel
Translate technical system considerations into clear, actionable information for both technical and non-technical audiences
Maintain professionalism and composure in high-visibility or high-urgency situations
Governance, Documentation, and Standards
- Ensure system documentation, standards, and records are accurate and maintained
- Support governance processes related to system changes, upgrades, and expansions
- Assist in defining and reinforcing system standards and best practices across projects and service activities
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in electronic security systems, security integration, electrical systems, or a closely related technical industry
- Proven experience working in large, complex, enterprise or campus-style security environments
- Strong understanding of access control and IP-based video surveillance systems at an architectural and design level
- Ability to evaluate system configurations, designs, and upgrade paths
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, prioritize competing needs, and drive coordinated outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mercury-based access control platforms
- Experience with large-scale IP video management systems
- Familiarity with integrated security environments involving multiple manufacturers and systems
- Experience working in regulated, high-security, or mission-critical environments
- Background working with or alongside IT and network teams in enterprise settings
Work Environment and Expectations
- Primarily on-site at a large, high-profile enterprise campus in the Twin Cities
- Regular interaction with customer leadership and internal technical teams
- Occasional off-hours coordination may be required based on operational needs
- Must meet applicable background and site access requirements
