As we prepare to launch groundbreaking projects, we’re seeking a Spacecraft Avionics Engineer to lead technical excellence and drive the development of next-generation for satellite-based fluid transport missions.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Spacecraft Avionics Engineer to design and develop the avionics and flight control system for our satellite-based water transport missions. This role will be involved in the full life cycle of the satellite's electrical design from requirement definition, through prototyping, build, test, and operation for spacecraft operating in Earth's orbit and beyond. The ideal candidate has expertise with spacecraft avionics design, flight computer selection, and multiple communication schemes. This position reports directly to their project technical lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Flight Computer Management
- Develop a novel flight computer setup that is able to interface with various sensor and data types
- Experience with communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, RS422, RS485
- Electrical Guidance System Design
- Select and integrate Guidance, Navigation, and Control components to navigate and orient vehicle in space
- Integrate needed components with flight computer into full vehicle package
- Understanding of IMUs, star trackers, GNSS, and other GNC hardware
- Electrical Expertise
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for spacecraft/satellite avionics
- Ensure adherence to NASA/FAA standards
What We’re Looking For - Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrated design experience
Experience: 3+ years in design, manufacture, and testing/inspection of aerospace avionics systems
Programming Skills: Proficiency in Electrical CAD program of choice.
