Full-Stack Mobile Engineer (React Native) – Equity First Role

We’re an ambitious, lean, mission-driven startup with a live product, early pilot partners, and a growing community. We’ve shipped v1.x of the Changer mobile app, and the next phase is about expanding the feature set, strengthening the architecture, and preparing the platform to scale.

The Role
We’re looking for a Full-Stack Mobile Engineer to help take Changer’s existing mobile app through its next stage of development.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end role. You’ll build features across the React Native experience, the APIs that support them, and integrations with our backend and AI-driven services.

You’ll work closely with our Head of Engineering, Co-Founders, product, design, and engineering team to expand the existing app, improve its architecture, and ship new capabilities across iOS and Android.

Commitment & Compensation

• Part-time: approximately 20 hours/week
• Equity: 0.5–1%
• This role is equity-only until funding closes, with the intention to transition to a market-rate salary thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute as a key member of a multi-disciplinary development team, driving the delivery of high-impact mobile solutions.
• Build, ship, and maintain features end-to-end across iOS and Android using React Native, including UI, state, data layer, and supporting backend endpoints.
• Improve the existing 1.x app through new capabilities, targeted technical improvements, and stronger quality and release processes.
• Participate in the architectural evolution of the mobile platform, with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Design, extend, and integrate backend APIs alongside our backend and AI work.
• Collaborate closely with product and design to translate ideas and feedback into production-ready experiences.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years’ experience building production React Native apps
• Deep understanding of mobile architecture, including storage solutions and design patterns
• Strong JavaScript / TypeScript / React skills
• Proven track record of building and maintaining multiple React Native applications
• Working knowledge of backend development and API design, with the ability to build and consume the services your features depend on
• Comfortable inheriting and improving an existing production codebase, not just building from scratch
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with Next.js
• Experience with end-to-end testing and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with native development (Swift / Kotlin)
• Interest in AI, automation, or impact-driven tech
