We are a well-established manufacturer specializing in large-scale low-pressure injection molding machinery. As part of our continued growth, we are revitalizing and upgrading our in-house machine shop to support existing operations and expand into new machining opportunities. We are investing in updated equipment and modern infrastructure and are looking for an experienced machinist to lead this transformation. Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced machinist with strong leadership skills to take ownership of our machine shop operations. This role requires expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, GD&T, and machine shop workflow. The ideal candidate will have prior leadership experience, be comfortable working with CNC mills and lathes, and be able to optimize machining processes for efficiency and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machining Operations: Set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes.
  • Programming: Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Fusion.
  • Blueprint Reading & GD&T: Interpret engineering drawings and ensure tight tolerances.
  • Shop Leadership: Manage daily operations, schedule production, and ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Process Improvement: Optimize machining processes to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Training & Mentorship: Guide and train less experienced machinists as the team grows.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Inventory of Raw Materials and Tooling: Oversee stock levels, procurement, storage, and tracking to ensure efficient production and minimal waste.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a production or job shop environment.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a machine shop setting.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming (Fusion or similar preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, tool selection, tool setups, feeds and speeds.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in building out a new machine shop.
  • Ability to Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
