A Vinyl Bar in Shibuya Inc. (“Shibuya”) is building the online home for emerging music creators and interactive consumption experiences leveraging generative AI. Our ambition is nothing short of being “the” music platform for the next generation.

/ Sounds great, but why me?

You have a deep understanding of full-stack engineering and AI, with a proven track record of shipping product(s) at an unparalleled velocity. You are one of the most technically proficient, creative, and ambitious engineers in the world - no project is too big nor too small, and “impossible” is nothing but a vegetarian meat substitute. Must-have qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack engineering, preferably at consumer internet companies or startups, with meaningful exposure to the mobile, AI, music, social, and/or media space;
• Prolific builder and fluent full-stack coder with an extreme bias for action (a “do-er”);
• Experience with a mix of technologies, including AWS services, GraphQL, and NextJs;
• Familiarity in AI-based technologies and applications, ideally in media, music, or creator spaces;
• Thrive in ambiguity, autonomy, creative problem-solving, and fast-paced startup environments;
• Just a comfortable acting as an independent contributor writing and shipping code consistently as working collaboratively with a small team;
• A low to no-ego team player who just loves to get shit done and ship;
• Experience going “0 to 1” in a startup with a deep understanding of the commitment required to win;
• Love for culture, technology, and music - and a sense of humor.

/ And what exactly do you want me to do…?

As a Founding Engineer, you will fill a pivotal role in shaping the direction and success of our product offering(s) and company. You will be an energetic thought partner, a hands-on contributor, and a tireless innovator, responsible for the following:

• Code + Ship: Build product, relentlessly (sometimes into the wee hours of the night);
• Engineering Direction: Define problems, ideate solutions, help build prototypes and experiments, as well as the technical infrastructure for higher fidelity product deployments;
• End-to-End Engineering: Contribute to the end-to-end development of prototypes, product features and systems, AI use cases, applications, and our overall platform development;
• Culture Setting: Contribute to an exceptionally high-performing and fun company culture, and a working environment that promotes culture, creativity, technology, and play.
• Act like a founder.
