About the job

We are seeking a talented and motivated UX/UI Product Designer to join our team as a foundational member. In this role, you will own the design process for our mobile app, shaping how families interact with a platform designed to transform children’s health. You’ll have the opportunity to create a user experience that is intuitive, engaging, and impactful, helping parents navigate tools to improve their children’s well-being.

This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven startup and play a critical role in crafting a product that makes a real difference in the lives of families.

About Us

At Holistic Childhood, we are on a mission to transform children’s health by empowering families with tools to track and improve their well-being. From addressing eczema, asthma, and obesity to ADHD and autism, our platform helps parents navigate the process of holistic healing for their children’s health challenges.

We’re early in our journey, with a live product helping families today, and we’re looking for a visionary designer to elevate the user experience to world-class standards. Together, we’re building something more than just an app—we’re building a movement that ensures every child has the opportunity to thrive.

What You’ll Do

Own the Design Process

  • Lead the end-to-end UX/UI design process, from user research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototypes and final handoffs to the development team.

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure a seamless and cohesive user experience that aligns with the company’s mission and goals.

Enhance Usability and Navigation

  • Redesign app workflows and interfaces to simplify usability, improve navigation, and create a delightful user experience for parents.

Focus on Visual Design

  • Develop and maintain a consistent design system, including typography, iconography, color palettes, and component libraries.

Conduct User Research

  • Partner with early adopters to gather insights, validate design decisions, and ensure the app meets the needs of real families.

Iterate and Innovate:

  • Use feedback and data-driven insights to continuously iterate on designs and propose innovative solutions to user challenges.

Ideal Candidate

Proven UX/UI Design Expertise

  • Strong portfolio showcasing mobile app design projects with an emphasis on usability, simplicity, and modern aesthetics.

Experience in Mobile Design

  • Proficient in designing for iOS (required) and Android (preferred) platforms, with a deep understanding of platform-specific guidelines.

User-Centric Approach

  • Passion for conducting user research and creating designs that prioritize user needs and behaviors.

Customer-Centric Mindset

  • Deep empathy for users and a commitment to crafting experiences that are both functional and delightful.

Strong Collaboration Skills

  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, communicate design concepts effectively, and integrate feedback into the design process.

Passion for Our Mission

  • Excited to contribute to a product that transforms the lives of children and families.

Proficiency with Design Tools

  • Expertise in tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, along with knowledge of prototyping tools.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience designing for health, wellness, or education apps.
  • Familiarity with implementing design systems in collaboration with engineering teams.

What We Offer

Equity-First Compensation

  • Be compensated with equity in the company, aligning your success with the company’s growth.

Mission-Driven Work

  • Join a passionate team committed to transforming children’s health and making a lasting impact.

Creative Ownership

  • Shape the design and user experience of a product that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Flexibility

  • Work in a collaborative team environment that values creativity and results.

Foundational Role

  • Help shape the culture, technical standards, and engineering team of a mission-driven startup.

How to Apply

If you’re an experienced UX/UI designer with a passion for creating meaningful products, we’d love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining why you’re excited about our mission and how your experience aligns with this role.
