Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Founding Engineer with a strong background in applied Machine Learning (ML) to join Ampere as the first engineer on our team. In this pivotal role, you will be the technical leader, responsible for building the product from the ground up. You must be an independent starter, capable of rapidly developing prototypes and transforming them into scalable, reliable applications without external assistance. Your expertise in ML will be integral to enhancing our platform’s capabilities and driving our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary technical authority, driving the overall technical vision and strategy for Ampere’s platform.
• Product Development: Independently design, develop, and deploy the core product, focusing on rapid prototyping and iterative “0 to 1” application development.
• Machine Learning Integration: Leverage your applied ML expertise to develop and implement machine learning models that enhance the platform’s functionality and user experience.
• Architecture Design: Architect scalable and robust systems, ensuring the platform can grow and adapt to increasing user demands and complex functionalities.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain stringent security measures to protect financial data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Customer Collaboration: Engage directly with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and iterate on product features to deliver exceptional value.
• Talent Building: As the team grows, collaborate with founders to identify and recruit additional technical talent, ensuring the team’s continued strength and expertise.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating best practices and innovative solutions into the product development lifecycle. ‍

Desired Hands-On Technical Skills

• Experience: 5-10 years of work experience in software engineering, with significant experience in applied Machine Learning.
• Applied Machine Learning: Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and deploying ML models in production environments. Proficiency with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Full-Stack Development: Strong background in full-stack development, capable of handling both front-end and back-end tasks seamlessly.
• Rapid Prototyping: Proven ability to build quick prototypes and transition them into fully functional applications independently.
• Technology Stack: Familiarity with our MVP technologies such as Flutterflow, Anvil, and Python is a plus, though expertise in other relevant languages and frameworks is also valued.
• B2B Web Applications: Hands-on experience with building and launching B2B web applications in highly regulated environments such as finance, energy, or government.
• Security Focus: Deep understanding of security best practices, particularly in the context of financial products and data protection.
• Cloud Platforms: Proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, especially in deploying and managing ML services.
• Problem-Solving & Leadership: Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead technical initiatives and make strategic decisions under pressure. ‍
