Director of Product and Engineering

Cordance is seeking a Director of Product and Engineering for Labstats who is a player coach who will lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented engineers, ensuring that projects align with our strategic goals, timelines, quality, and regulatory standards. This role requires a blend of strategic vision and tactical expertise, with a strong focus on team leadership, product delivery, and innovation.

This is a fully remote role; must reside in the US and have work authorization in the US without needs for sponsorship

Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and work alongside a team of software engineers to foster a high-performance, innovative, and results-oriented culture.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to define the technical and product roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
• Voice of the Customer & Product Roadmap: Actively gather and integrate customer feedback to influence the product roadmap, ensuring product development aligns with customer needs, enhances user experience, and drives competitive advantage.
• Project & Resource Management: Oversee project management within the engineering team to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of products and features.
• Technical Oversight: Analyze tech debt and implement architectural and technical decisions that support scalability, security, and reliability, with a focus on best practices and coding standards.
• Security & Compliance: Establish, monitor, and enforce security protocols and compliance standards, including but not limited to data protection, GDPR, and industry best practices. Ensure timely completion of all necessary compliance tasks.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align on priorities, solve challenges, and ensure smooth project delivery.
• Process Optimization: Implement and improve engineering processes, methodologies, and frameworks to streamline development and enhance productivity.
• Hiring & Talent Retention: Attract, retain, and develop engineering talent, building a diverse and inclusive team.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of learning, innovation and data-driven decision-making within the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
• 7+ years working with SaaS technologies
• 5+ years managing an engineering team
• Experience building applications and features in the .Net backend environment
• Experience with Bootstrap frontend (hosted on azure)
• Experience with ASP.NET and SQL database

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in building software solutions for higher education or SLED equivalent
• Knowledge of GDPR and other relevant data protection and security standards is strongly preferred.
