Senior Backend Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer (Django) to join us on a 6-month project. This role offers the chance to lead backend development initiatives, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your technical expertise will directly shape the core functionality and scalability of our cutting-edge AI-powered products.

Role Overview

• Position: Senior Backend Developer (Django)
• Location: Remote (WFH)
• Duration: 6 months (Immediate Start)

Skills & QualificationsExperience:

• 2+ years of backend development experience, preferably in a fast-paced, tech-oriented environment.

Technical Expertise:

• Programming Languages: Proficient in Python with a strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Frameworks: Hands-on experience with Django and Django Rest Framework (DRF) for building scalable web applications and RESTful APIs.
• APIs & Web Services: Expertise in developing and consuming REST APIs and working with web services.
• Database Design: Strong experience with relational databases, including SQL and ORM (Object-Relational Mapping).
• Version Control: Proficiency in GIT and collaboration on GitHub repositories.
• Containerization: Experience with Docker to streamline development and deployment processes.

Bonus Skills:

• Linux Systems: Familiarity with Linux for managing server environments.
• Web Server Deployment: Knowledge of Nginx and Gunicorn is a plus.

Problem-Solving & Optimization:

• Analytical mindset to optimize backend systems for performance and scalability.

Communication:

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with frontend teams, present ideas, and implement feedback effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure backend services for Skitre.ai's AI-powered products.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs to enhance product functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend systems with frontend requirements.
• Ensure database design adheres to best practices for efficiency and scalability.
• Use containerization tools like Docker for development and deployment workflows.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues to maintain system reliability.
• Maintain code quality, perform code reviews, and follow GIT workflows for version control.
