SALARY: $49,158 - $86,026

The Challenge
We are looking for an experienced Surveying Technician to join our Smithfield Resident Engineering team.

In this role, you will:
⦁ Perform survey work on complex construction projects.
⦁ Supervise survey crews and junior technicians.
⦁ Make independent decisions.
⦁ Communicate effectively with co-workers, contractors, and the public.
⦁ Review contractor's survey submittals and provide checks of their construction layouts in the field.

What You Bring
⦁ Ability to read, interpret, and explain such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and specification/inspection procedures.
⦁ Safety toe shoes.
⦁ Experience using surveying equipment, instruments, levels, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
⦁ Experience with math functions, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
⦁ Experience performing highway construction stakeouts.
⦁ Experience conducting independent, moderately-complex surveying.
⦁ Computer experience, including Microsoft office and drafting software.
⦁ Ability to work in outside environmental hazards, confined areas, and to work nights and weekends.

Education & Experience
⦁ Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field, and
⦁ 7+ years relevant technician-level experience; or
⦁ An equivalent combination of training and experience.
