We are building the future of Small Business Identity & Connectivity, helping Small Business owners save more than 400 hours/year and making the ecosystem more efficient. Palm incentivizes merchants to keep their data accurate and verified inside of Palm’s Data Profile, easily syndicating verified data through their Data Wallet to Regulators & Partners in Palm’s network while automating government compliance forms. Less work for Merchants, verified information for partners & regulators. Drastic savings for Small Business. Palm is backed by leaving Venture Partners has several active Merchants on the platform.

We are looking for a Founding Engineer who will be the technical partner in our team who can drive rapid delivery, be an accountable & communicative partner. This is a high output role.

What You Will Do

In this role you will be a key part of the team and responsible for Palm’s engineering output and serve as a key technical partner across the team. You will leverage modern frameworks, well placed 3rd party tools and your own expertise as a developer to drive high output across the entire Palm Team. Both leading others and contributing yourself.
Palm leverages LLMs to synthesize public and private information, an API driven backend for Partners & Merchants, while delivering services for Merchants through a REACT front end. We plan to roll out additional semantic AI and AI enabled tools to help Merchants syndicate their data where needed, so experience working with AI is ideal.

• You're excited to push the limits of what LLMs and new models can do, and see them used to create real value
• You're familiar with the tradeoffs between building for speed and building for scale, buying products where it makes sense
• You thrive in ambiguity, where you can define your own requirements, run tests, and drive outcomes
• You’re a strong communicator, that’s used to working in remote and hybrid/remote teams, working relentlessly to find the best solution
• You've built other data heavy API platforms that connect to many partners and surfaces that are performant and stable
• You’re a full stack/back-end focused engineer that is comfortable making architectural decisions and setting/managing up data infrastructure
• An experienced founding engineer who thrives in early stage environments and going from zero to one
• Ready to roll up your sleeves and build with a team that’s committed to delivering
• Excellent problem-solving skills, detail-oriented mindset, and effective team collaboration ability
• You are based in SF Bay Area
