Key Responsibilities:
● As a Data Engineer at Airveda, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our data infrastructure to ensure seamless collection, storage, processing, and analysis of air quality data from our IoT devices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including embedded systems engineers, software developers to enhance our data capabilities and drive actionable insights for our customers This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a dynamic and mission-oriented environment.
● Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and storing large volumes of sensor data from our Air Quality Monitors.
● Implement robust data validation and quality control processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of collected data.
● Optimize data storage and retrieval mechanisms for efficient access and scalability, utilizing both relational and NoSQL databases as appropriate.
● Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data analytics and visualization features into our mobile apps and web dashboards.
● Work closely with embedded systems engineers to optimize data transmission protocols and minimize resource consumption on IoT devices.
● Explore and implement advanced techniques for real-time data processing, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics to enhance our air quality monitoring capabilities.
● Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
● Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
● 1-2 years of proven experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes in a production environment.
● Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Django, Javascript with experience in data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and frameworks (e.g., elasticsearch).
● Strong understanding of database systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases, with experience in designing schemas and optimizing query performance.
● Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, and expertise in deploying and managing data services (e.g., S3, DynamoDB).
● Knowledge of machine learning techniques and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) for data analysis and predictive modeling.
● Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Plotly, or Dash.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence technical decisions.
● Understanding of air quality monitoring principles and environmental science concepts is advantageous but not required.
