Senior Engineer - Web Development

Role Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer to lead the development of responsive, user-friendly, and scalable web applications. This role combines both frontend and backend development and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent coding skills, and an ability to work closely with cross-functional teams. You’ll play a key role in the full development cycle, from concept and design to testing and deploying one of our products - Drone Mission Ops.

Drone Mission Ops (DMO): A full-stack drone flight solution that enables drone service providers, pilots, and enterprises to execute fast, accurate, and seamless drone missions

Responsibilities

Core Functions

1. Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, efficient, and secure web applications across our product suite.
2. Front-End Focus: Create highly responsive and interactive user interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
3. Back-End Focus: Develop, optimise, and maintain backend APIs and services, ensuring scalability and reliability.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to ensure smooth project execution.
5. Quality Assurance: Write clean, maintainable code; conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
6. Continuous Improvement: Research new technologies and best practices, continually enhancing our tech stack and development processes.

Key Competencies/Skills

Mandatory Skills

1. System Architecture: Strong knowledge of web application architecture and experience designing scalable, maintainable systems.
2. Frontend Development: Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus proficiency in modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
3. Backend Development: Experience with server-side programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Ruby) and working knowledge of REST APIs.
4. Automated Testing: Experience with test automation frameworks and tools, with the ability to write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
5. Database Management: Proficiency with both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
6. Responsive Design: Demonstrated experience in building mobile-friendly and cross-browser-compatible web applications.

Desired Skills

1. Familiarity with Docker.
2. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and CI/CD pipelines.
3. Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices.
4. Knowledge of ISMS/ISO 27001.

Qualifications

1. Experience: 3-5 years in web development, with a solid understanding of both frontend and backend development practices.
2. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3. Proven track record of successfully delivering web projects in a fast-paced environment.
