Role Overview
We are seeking a Computer Vision Engineer with expertise in designing and implementing vision-based systems for agricultural robotics. This role focuses on developing perception systems that enable real-time weed detection, classification, and laser-guided targeting in dynamic field conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer vision, machine learning, and a passion for deploying AI-driven solutions in real-world applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize computer vision systems for real-time weed detection, classification, and localization in agricultural environments.
- Design and implement algorithms for weed segmentation and precise laser targeting under diverse field conditions.
- Build and maintain pipelines for large-scale dataset curation and training of weed and crop recognition models.
- Train and deploy machine learning models, including reinforcement learning approaches, to enhance system performance and adaptability across various weed and crop types.
- Create and manage simulation environments to test and validate vision algorithms in controlled and field conditions.
- Integrate vision systems with robotics platforms, ensuring seamless operation and high accuracy in laser targeting systems.
- Continuously refine algorithms to improve robustness against environmental challenges, such as varying lighting, soil types, and crop growth stages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including robotics, hardware, and software engineers, to ensure cohesive product development and deployment.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing computer vision solutions.
- Proficiency with computer vision libraries and frameworks such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ for vision algorithm development.
- Experience with image processing, object detection, and classification techniques.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and deploying vision models on edge devices, particularly NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on real-world application challenges.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of reinforcement learning or advanced machine learning techniques for improving adaptability of vision systems.
- Experience designing and testing computer vision systems in dynamic outdoor environments.
- Familiarity with robotics and sensor integration for precision agriculture.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets for model training and validation.
