Senior System Architect

As we build our cloud infrastructure, we are looking for a Senior System Architect with mandatory, hands-on experience designing and deploying systems that serve millions of users in production environments. This role will be pivotal in ensuring our architecture is highly scalable, secure, and resilient, with a focus on cloud-native solutions.

Position Overview:
As the Senior System Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of our cloud-based infrastructure. Candidates must have a proven record of designing and scaling systems in production for millions of users, particularly within high-security and high-availability industries like fintech. This role demands both strategic insight and technical expertise to create infrastructure that meets the highest standards of reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

System Architecture Design: Architect and lead the implementation of highly scalable cloud-based systems that meet the needs of millions of users.
Infrastructure Scaling: Design infrastructure with horizontal scaling and performance optimization in mind to handle large-scale data and traffic.
Cloud Infrastructure Management: Drive the adoption of cloud-native technologies and best practices on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Security & Compliance: Partner with the security team to ensure the architecture adheres to industry security standards and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS).
Monitoring & Reliability: Implement high-availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and continuous monitoring strategies for critical services.
Technical Leadership: Set technical direction and establish architecture standards, collaborating closely with engineering teams to maintain alignment.
Cost Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize cloud infrastructure costs without compromising performance or security.
Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentor and guide engineers on best practices for cloud architecture, microservices, and DevOps principles.
Mandatory Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 7 years in system architecture, with a required, proven track record of designing and deploying production systems serving millions of users in high-scale environments.
Technical Expertise: In-depth experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), microservices architecture, and serverless technologies.
Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, or Go; experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Database Management: Expertise with both relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, or DynamoDB, with experience in big data solutions.
Security: Strong knowledge of secure system design, network security, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance requirements.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, innovate, and optimize systems in complex, high-stakes environments.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Certifications:

Certified System Architect (CSA) by Pegasystems
TOGAF 9 Certification by The Open Group
Certified Enterprise Architect by Zachman International
AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent.
