HIGHER PAY: $79,955 - $82,754

The Challenge
We're looking for an experienced Engineering Specialist II to join our Division 6 Lillington/Fayetteville Engineering team and serve as Survey Party Chief.

In this role, you will:
⦁ Perform survey work on complex construction projects.
⦁ Supervise survey crews and junior technicians.
⦁ Make independent decisions.
⦁ Communicate effectively with coworkers, contractors, and the public.
⦁ Review contractor survey submittals and provide checks on their construction layouts in the field.

What You Bring
⦁ Experience using surveying equipment, instruments, levels, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
⦁ Experience with math functions, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
⦁ Experience performing highway construction stakeouts.
⦁ Experience conducting independent, moderately-complex surveying.
⦁ Computer experience, including Microsoft Office and drafting software.
⦁ Ability to read, interpret, and explain construction plans, contract provisions, and specification/inspection procedures.
⦁ Ability to work outside with environmental hazards, in confined areas, and on nights/weekends.
⦁ Steel toe shoes.

Education & Experience
⦁ Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or Survey Technology, and
⦁ 7+ years of progressive technician experience; or
⦁ An equivalent combination of education and experience.
