What will you be doing?
The People Operations Specialist – Night Shift Lead is a dual-function role that combines core HR responsibilities with shift leadership oversight. The role is a permanent night shift position where responsibilities include managing payroll, benefits, employee records, facilitating employee engagement activities, and other HR operations to ensure a smooth and efficient people experience. The shift lead responsibilities include overseeing personnel during night shifts, ensuring good productivity, and reporting any issues to management.
Your responsibilities will include:
People Operations Duties:
- Payroll Processing: Work with payroll team for timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Benefits Management: Support the administration of employee benefits (HMO, Life insurance, etc.), including enrollment, changes, and inquiries. Liaise with providers and respond to employee benefit-related questions.
- Employee Records Management: Maintain up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment history, and compliance documents in the HRIS.
- Attendance & Leave Monitoring: Track and manage employee attendance, leaves, and absences. Ensure records are accurately maintained and reported.
- Compliance & Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence to company policies, HR practices, and employment laws. Support management and compliance officer with policy updates and compliance checks.
- Employee Support: Act as a resource for employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies. Resolve or escalate issues as needed.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Assist with the onboarding of new hires and offboarding of exiting employees, ensuring a consistent and compliant experience.
- Travel Assistance and Processing: Assist with travel requirements of personnel and visitors whenever necessary. This includes flight and hotel bookings, as well as management of corporate apartment when needed.
- Employee Engagement. Develop and facilitate engagement activities for employees, especially for our night shift personnel, to help foster a positive and connected work environment. Plan and execute team-building activities, recognition programs, and events that promote morale and team cohesion.
Shift Lead Duties
- Night Shift Supervision: Monitor personnel during night shifts to ensure that all team members adhere to schedules, meet productivity standards, and uphold workplace policies.
- Attendance Monitoring: Track attendance and punctuality for night shift employees. Report any absences, anomalies, or deviations in shift patterns to the employee’s manager.
- Performance & Behavior Oversight: Act as escalation point for minor issues and provide support to night shift personnel when needed.
- Reporting: Document and report any operational or personnel-related issues during night shifts, ensuring management is informed.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Perform any additional duties or responsibilities as needed to support People Operations and shift supervision.

Other qualities you will need to be a fit for this role include:
- 3-5 years progressive Human Resources experience
- University degree preferred; but undergraduates with relevant experience may be considered.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, tight timelines, and multiple priorities, in a fast-moving, constantly changing environment
- Strong interpersonal communication, listening skills, critical writing, and thinking skills
- Exercise good judgment and demonstrate a diplomatic and open-minded approach
- High degree of professionalism, maturity, and confidentiality
- Strong technical skills, including significant experience using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proven application experience of HR information systems
