Operait Health is building an AI-driven, all-in-one platform to run Operating Rooms (ORs) more effectively for hospitals and surgery centers. Hospitals are the foundation of every community. However, the median hospital consistently faces negative operating margins as total costs have increased at their highest rate over the last 5 years. Currently, more than half of the US hospitals have negative margins. ORs present an opportunity for hospitals to maximize revenue, optimize operations, and improve care outcomes for patients.

About The Role

As a member of the founding team, you’ll work directly with the CEO on execution of the technical roadmap as well as building the team culture from ground up. Our product is already live in a few hospitals and we are consistenly getting meaningful feedback from our users to create a market leading software.
We are an early startup and this is an opportunity for you to join at ground level. You will be given a great amount of responsibility and agency to make impactful, practical decisions. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web application features, APIs, and backend services that support our AI-driven operating room platform.
• Maintain and edit ML models to generate predictions, and making the prediction output available in actionable ways.
• Work across the stack, from database design and backend services to front-end development, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Build reusable code libraries, components, and frameworks to improve development speed and quality.
• Implement engineering best practices for secure, scalable, and maintainable code.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in full stack development, with at least 2 years in a senior-staff level role.
• Early-stage product experience building from 0 to 1, and rebuilding that 1 into N
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
• Proficiency in Typescript, React, Tailwind, Zod, Knex, Yarn
• Good sense of system architecture and extensible API design including experience in Airflow, Terraform and writing ETL dags in Python
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud Platform
• Disciplined approach to design and engineering: Clean Code, TDD, CI/CD
• Experience working with cross-functional and non-technical business stakeholders and partners
• Straddle between the stack and can own the feature across the stack, from design, implementation to deployment without the need for a Product Manager
• Startup experience and/or agency experience (bonus if in healthcare)
