As a Lead Engineer, first you are a leader! you’ll guide a team in building, optimizing, and delivering this cutting-edge system. You’ll be responsible for project timelines, team coordination, and ensuring high-quality output, while actively contributing technically. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on development, enabling you to make a significant impact in shaping a robust infrastructure that leverages AI for use cases like model training, surveillance, streaming, and beyond.

✅ In This Role, You Will:

• Lead and manage technical projects from planning through to execution and delivery.
• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance services for the core VideoDB product.
• Set and oversee project timelines, deliverables, and team workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to design features and improve system performance.
• Act as a mentor to other engineers, guiding best practices and technical problem-solving.
• Work closely with the product and engineering teams to align on goals and priorities.

🛠️ Technical Skills Required:

• Programming: Strong proficiency in Python; additional languages are a plus.
• Video Tech: Experience with FFmpeg and low-level video/audio libraries; knowledge of video codecs and streaming technologies is advantageous.
• Distributed Systems: Proven experience building and optimizing distributed, high-performing systems.
• Cloud: Advanced skills with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Databases: In-depth experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Operating Systems: Solid experience in Linux environments.

Bonus Skills 🎂

• Ability to code in low-level programming languages when needed.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks.
