This role offers an excellent career opportunity for an experienced and motivated Technical Sales Consultant to join our sales team; and contribute to the expansion of Emesent’s business in the Asia Pacific region. As the Technical Sales Consultant you will be responsible for engaging with customers to promote and train customers in the value of using Emesent’s solutions. You will be responsible for product demonstrations, supporting Proof of Concepts, training and technical evaluations of Hovermapand Emesent’s suite of software products.

A key requirement for this role is to provide technical sales support to Emesent’s network of registeredresellers in the APAC region. This responsibility requires you to work closely with external partners andsupport them to win new business.

Here’s what we need

  • Support business development efforts by promoting and demonstrating Hovermap to customers from defence and other industries across the APAC region.
  • Identify new market opportunities and use cases for Hovermap and Emesent products in general.
  • Collate feedback from customers and pass to development to assist in improving the products.
  • Represent Emesent as required at shows & exhibitions within your territory and globally.
  • Assist in the delivery of training courses and educate customers on the use of products
  • Support the execution of the business development and growth plan; and be a key contributor to ensure the ‘voice of the customer’ is clearly addressed.
  • Help drive the delivery of business objectives in line with the approved strategy and business plan
  • Conduct field demonstrations for defence stakeholders and clients in general
  • Organize field trips and conduct field experiments for the Testing and Evaluation (T&E) of Emesent’s technologies and products.
  • Work with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, product management etc., to develop technical sales and promotional material
  • Willing to travel throughout APAC and, when required, global travel for work.
  • Provide client and market-led input into product strategy
  • Represent Emesent as required at shows & exhibitions within your territory and globally.
  • Collate feedback from customers and pass to development to assist in improving the products
  • Feed potential development opportunities into the product management team
  • Assist in the delivery of training courses
  • Train customers in the use of the products

How you’ll succeed

  • 5+ years experience in technical sales, presales or consultancy roles within a technical industry such as infrastructure, construction or asset management.
  • Proven track record of selling consultative solutions and securing customer commitment to achieve joint objectives.
  • Strong customer-facing presentation and influencing skills.
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of the industry and competitor trends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to travel throughout Australia, the APAC region, and occasionally internationally.
  • Background in surveying or GIS. (Desirable)
  • Background and experience in the field demonstrating complex systems such as robots, GIS software, etc.
  • Significant interest in industrial innovation and technologies, with the ability to communicate and
  • identify new opportunities for the application of the technology. (Desirable)
  • Tertiary qualifications in mining, surveying, engineering, or related fields. (Desirable)
  • Drone experience, although this will be provided. (Desirable)
  • Experience with managing and organising multiple deliverables and deadlines.
