Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to serve as the technical backbone of our infrastructure. In this pivotal role, you will support a variety of projects across our roadmap and play a crucial role in guiding the evolution of our systems architecture. Collaborating closely with our development team, you will ensure alignment and drive successful project outcomes.

This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with our backend systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps tooling, helping us scale while maintaining stability, security, and performance of our technology. You will thrive in a dynamic environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovative problem solving.

What You'll Do:

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable and secure database solutions.
• Collaborate with backend developers working in Rails to build and optimize services and APIs.
• Work directly with our dev shop to coordinate development efforts and maintain high standards of code quality.
• Lead DevOps efforts to ensure smooth, automated CI/CD pipelines and effective monitoring.
• Design cloud infrastructure that supports our applications and services in a scalable, efficient, and reliable manner.
• Provide technical leadership across teams, mentoring less experienced engineers and ensuring best practices are followed.
• What We're Looking For:
• 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, cloud engineering, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in database engineering, especially with large-scale systems.
• Deep knowledge of backend engineering, with significant experience in Ruby on Rails. Experience with AI/ML is a must. A data scientist at heart would be ideal, bringing a strong analytical mindset to our engineering challenges.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of DevOps best practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fully remote environment.
