Blockchain DevOps Engineer

Role

• Setup and maintain blockchain nodes for Nirvana’s global customer base
• Build and maintain automations for running blockchain nodes and internal monitoring services
• Set and maintain the best-in-class DevOps practices.

Requirements

• Communication: Fluent in English
• Scripting and Configuration Management: Proficiency in scripting and configuration management of virtual machines using Ansible.
• Kubernetes Experience: Proven experience in building and maintaining self-managed Kubernetes clusters in production. Comfortable with deploying complete new services.
• Blockchain RPC Node Experience: At least 1 year of professional experience in creating and maintaining blockchain RPC nodes (Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Polygon, Solana, Optimism, Base, etc.)
• Bare Metal Provisioning: Experience with provisioning and maintaining bare metal hardware with remote access via iPXE.
• Infrastructure Provisioning Tools: Experience with tools like Terraform or OpenTofu for managing a collection of related resources.
• CI/CD Expertise: Knowledgeable in deploying services reliably using tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, TravisCI, or Jenkins.
• Version Control Systems: Experience with Git-based systems for code and configuration management.
• Ethereum Virtual Machine: Deep understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine and its workings.
• Data Ingestion and Decoding: Direct experience with decoding raw RPC data and ingesting it into a data warehouse (BigTable, PostgreSQL, ScyllaDB, Snowflake, S3, etc.).
• Linux Scripting: Proficient in Linux scripting using bash.
• Python Automation: Experience in automating tasks and creating internal tools using Python.
• Networking Skills: Strong understanding of peer-to-peer networks and kubernetes network security.
• Database Management: Familiarity with PostgreSQL
• Blockchain Protocols and Standards: Knowledge of various blockchain protocols and standards.
• Security Practices: Awareness of cybersecurity practices relevant to blockchain and distributed systems.
• Monitoring and Logging: Skills in setting up and managing systems for monitoring and logging (Grafana, Prometheus, ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kibana).
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Experience in ensuring high availability and implementing disaster recovery strategies.
• Teamwork and Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Automation with Golang: Experience in creating automation tasks and internal tooling using Golang.
• Open Source Contributions: Active contributions to relevant open source blockchain projects.
• Certifications: Blockchain technology, cloud services, Kubernetes, or security certifications.
• Diverse Blockchain Environment Experience: Familiarity with a variety of blockchain environments.
• DeFi Protocols Experience: Experience with Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocols and smart contracts
