The Role
As an Engineering Manager at Surfside, you will lead a team of skilled engineers in developing our core products. You will oversee project timelines, ensure the quality of deliverables, and foster a collaborative engineering culture. Your role bridges technical execution and strategic planning, working closely with product managers and stakeholders to drive innovation.
Responsibilities
• Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, promoting professional growth.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Collaborate with product management to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
• Implement and advocate for best practices in software development and agile methodologies.
• Facilitate cross-team communication and coordination.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategies.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks.
• Lead recruitment efforts to build a high-performing engineering team.
• Monitor and improve engineering processes for efficiency and scalability.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams to successful product deliveries.
• Strong technical background with experience in modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Proficiency in agile development practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to balance technical depth with managerial responsibilities.
• Experience in the advertising technology or e-commerce sector is a plus.
