Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer with 6 to 9 years of experience to lead the design, development, and optimization of our database systems. This role is critical in managing large-scale data architecture, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability in support of our smart metering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of database systems, ensuring scalability and performance in high-traffic environments.
• Oversee database security, backups, and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
• Optimize existing databases by designing and implementing data partitioning, indexing, and sharding strategies.
• Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and DevOps teams to integrate databases with various smart metering solutions.
• Drive the automation of database management processes and continuous integration pipelines.
• Ensure database compliance with industry standards and best practices, including security and privacy regulations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6 to 9 years of experience in database design, architecture, and management.
• Expertise in relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure SQL.
• Proven experience in database optimization, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Shell scripting, Terraform) for database management.
• Strong understanding of data security protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
• Familiarity with smart metering or IoT solutions.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
